Hi, my air conditioner just died, the temperature isn't so hot right
now (but is pretty warm) so moving my chin's to a cooler part of the
house that is independently air conditioned will do in the short term
until I can get it fixed, but I was curious if anyone else had tricks
to deal with an extended outage in hot weather? I hope it doesn't come
up, but perhaps people have things to share on the subject.

some tricks I know are:

put my granite slab in the freezer, swap into cage regularly.
freeze bottled water bottles and put them in cage. (not real great,
they chew the bottle)
and of course, find a willing neighbor with an air conditioner.

another idea, bowl of ice cubes,
circulate air, it helps,
sheet over cage wettish, and fan over that
thewater bottles? get glass ones and fill half full and freeze upside
down, that way the expansion of ice goes into largest part of bottle
and has less chance of breaking [although about 30% break anyway] but
chins cant chew them.
the ceramic flower pots that are plain clay freeze and change about in
cage.
the yahoo chin group is very active too. they might have some other ideas.
